Story 41 - Teenage Project
Teenage Project is the only one to remain out of the original projects developed after several years of experimentation and application of principles and techniques. In the beginning, several projects were created with the goal of improving society. “Teen-Age” Project consisted of junior high school members who helped orphanage children in Lincoln. Activities included: parties, dinners, movies and coke dates. Teenage Project evolved and expanded to include all high schools in Lincoln with the following goals: 1) to develop the potential of each student 2.) to create better relations among the 5 high schools and 3.) to show the significant contribution which the student can make to the community.
The Teenage Project has an incredibly rich history of activities and programs it has created and supported over the years.
In 2024, the Teenage project includes students from all Lincoln high schools with the exception of Lincoln High, Southeast and East.

“Teenage Project is the only high school project with a large number of schools represented, creating an incredibly diverse group of mentors and mentees! We are a very high-energy project, and we develop deep connections with one another through a fun and inviting environment! We are a project that often has large numbers and project hoppers, allowing us to share the Teenage love with so many.”
Just a few of their outstanding one-on-ones
“Keilyn and I met at reactor again! We played a game where I wrote down 20 different questions and we used a number generator to pick questions to answer. these ranged from funny questions like what’s your irrational fear or what’s you favorite cereal to more deep questions like who do you look up to and why and what are your top values etc. We had a lot of fun and this sparked a lot of meaningful conversation!”
“Evia and I went to Panera and big backed (like usual). For the first half of the meeting we caught up, got a feel for her classes this semester, and talked about her plans for homecoming. For the later half, we talked about our plans for the semester. While we didn’t even get through the first thing I planned (we talk too much), we started a chart of goals about “then”, “now” , and “future.” We only got time for our “now” and “future” categories, and we talked about having a good GPA because it matters in high school now! She said she is going to accomplish this by staying on top of her assignments, and her new leadership class (AVID) makes her stay accountable with a planner. She said she also wanted to improve/forest new relationships. She is going to accomplish this by being more intentional with her conversations and complimenting more people. That’s just to name a few but hopefully we will continue our convo next week!!!”
“Today, Isaiah and I went to Starbucks and discussed the first few chapters of the book we are reading together, “Tuesdays with Morrie.” We had a really good discussion about making the most out of situations, having an optimistic attitude, and the power the brain has on the rest of the body.”
